Do You Only Knit for a Practical Purpose?

Results of last month’s poll

A while back, I brought up the question about where the art of knitting fits (if anywhere) in our lives. It’s a been a while since I closed the poll Does your knitting have to have a practical purpose?

I think it is sometimes fun to have an excuse to think about silly random questions like this, so I didn’t expect the answers to be black and white — it certainly is not clearcut in my own mind. And it doesn’t really matter, I guess, except that again this month, I have presented you with a project that does not have a lot of practical purpose, lol. So thanks to those who are playing along anyway and having fun with the Holiday Beaded Mini Sock

In case you had not reviewed the results since the poll closed, there were 190 who put in their vote. Plus several who commented either on the site here, or on the Facebook page or wrote in. Here are the poll results broken down –

12: Yes

110: Yes usually

51: Occasionally

17: No Never!

190 is barely a statistically significant number of representative answers (as of the June 15th close of the poll, we had about 3900 members who were showing up as active — so not quite 5% response). No worries … I appreciate the voice of everyone who chips in when they can. Or helps spread the word about KnitHeartStrings KAL’s. Or helps by being a Premium member. Etc. EACH of you is individually important.

If you didn’t get a chance to comment before, feel free to do so here. Reading your comments is always interesting, so keep them coming. Thanks!
